The brunette stepped forward, her eyes flicking between Allen and Gerry. "We couldn't help but notice your workout routine. It's really impressive. We were wondering if you might have any tips for us."
Gerry didn't waste a second. He saw the opportunity for a bit of a show-off and seized it with both hands. "I know your question is for my friend right here," he said, glancing at Allen with a mock-serious expression. "But since I'm his coach, I'll give you a few tips."
Allen had to bite back a laugh. Gerry was elevating himself from gym buddy to self-proclaimed coach. But Allen decided to let him have his moment. After all, it was entertaining to watch.
The girls exchanged glances, a mix of curiosity and amusement on their faces. "Alright," the blonde said, her determination giving way to a small smile. "What do you recommend?"
Gerry cleared his throat, adopting a more authoritative tone. "First off, consistency is key. It doesn't matter how hard you work out if you don't do it regularly. Find a schedule that works for you and stick to it. That's the foundation of any successful fitness routine."
The brunette nodded, her eyes still flicking occasionally to Allen. "That makes sense. What else?"
"Second," Gerry continued, "focus on form over weight. It's better to lift lighter with proper form than to go heavy and risk injury. This not only helps in preventing injuries but also ensures you're targeting the right muscles."
Allen watched the exchange, amused by Gerry's performance but also impressed by his genuine knowledge. Despite his flair for dramatics, Gerry knew his stuff.
"And third," Gerry said, leaning in slightly as if sharing a secret, "mix up your routine. Your body adapts to the same exercises over time, so it's important to keep things varied. This not only helps in continued progress but also keeps your workouts interesting."
The brunette followed suit, stepping forward and introducing herself. "I'm Jess," she said, her handshake firm but friendly. "We often see you around but never got the chance to say hi."
Allen nodded, feeling more comfortable now that introductions were made. "Nice to meet you too, Jess."
Emily continued, "We've noticed you're pretty consistent with your workouts. We usually come around the same time, but we're not as disciplined."
Jess nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we've been trying to stick to a routine, but it's tough. Seeing you guys here so often is really motivating."
Allen appreciated the compliment and found himself relaxing more. "It's all about finding what works for you and sticking with it. It's great to have a routine, but it's also important to be flexible."
Emily's eyes sparkled with interest. "So, what's your usual schedule? Maybe we can coordinate and pick up some tips from you along the way."
"I don't have a fixed schedule but I usually come here around eight to ten in the morning," Allen explained.
"By the way," Emily added with a slightly shy smile, "you smell really good. What cologne do you use?"
Allen was momentarily taken aback by the compliment but managed to respond with a grin. "Oh, thanks. It's Saff de Chanel," he spoke, hoping he wasn't wrong.
Jess's curiosity was piqued. She stepped closer, her eyes bright with interest. "Really? I've heard of it but never tried it. Mind if I...?" She hesitated, not wanting to be too forward but clearly curious.
Before Jess could step any closer, Gerry smoothly inserted himself between Allen and the girls, his presence commanding attention. With a wide smile, he extended his hand to Emily and Jess. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Gerry, by the way," he said warmly, shaking their hands in turn.
