Chapter 1529 The Secret Mother Hidden (Part 2)
Looking at the address on the envelope, the uncle couldn't help but scratch his head: "Ah, this address no longer exists. The names of all the streets in this area were changed not long ago."
“…I knew it.” Mingxu’s lips twitched; that was exactly what he had just checked.
"Ah! No way? My chocolate swimming pool, Pink Sisters..." Shin-chan lay dejectedly on Mingxu's back.
"Hey, when did you get up here?" Mingxu looked at Xiaoxin speechlessly, shook his head, and asked the uncle, "Excuse me, could you help us look for it?"
"Oh, no problem, come with me." With that, the officer led them into the police station and took out the old map to compare with the current one.
"If this address were changed from the old one, you should walk straight along the road in front of the police station until you reach the convenience store, then turn right and continue walking. At the intersection, turn left, and when you see the post office, turn right. That should be the address." As he spoke, he described the route on the map.
"Ah, if you knew, you should have said so from the beginning!" Shin-chan said, dissatisfied.
"How rude!" Mingxu slapped Xiaoxin on the head, then looked at the uncle and said politely, "Uncle, could you draw us a route map?"
"Okay, no problem, I'll draw it for you." As he spoke, the uncle tore off a piece of paper and started drawing on it. After a short while, he handed it to Mingxu and said, "Just follow this map. Don't lose it."
"Thank you, Uncle." Mingxu, holding Xiaoxin's hand, bowed politely to the uncle and headed towards the location indicated on the route.
"You're welcome. Remember to come find me if you need anything." The man watched them leave, smiled, and didn't take it too seriously.
Following the directions given by the uncle, Mingxu led Xiaoxin to the location. Then, his eyes fell on a house with the surname Yuan written on the door. He nodded to confirm, "Yes, this is the place."
Looking at the houses here, and recalling what Misae had said about the swimming pool and chocolate, Mingxu pursed his lips, knowing that she was just bragging.
"Ah! It's exactly the same! I've finally found it! But, is this really the place?" Xiaoxin looked at the house in front of him with doubt on his face and looked at Mingxu uncertainly.
"If nothing unexpected happens, this is the right place." Mingxu shrugged, somewhat helplessly.
"Ah~" Shin-chan was a little disappointed. Mingxu looked at Shin-chan and asked, "Do you want to go up and confirm?"
"Okay." Xiaoxin nodded, walked to the door, and knocked.
"Is there something you need?" There was no response from inside the door, but a woman outside was carrying a box and looking at the two children with curiosity.
"I...I...I..." Xiaoxin stammered.
"What do you want with this family?" the woman continued to ask.
"Hello, we're looking for the person in this letter." Mingxu took out the letter and asked the person in front of him. If he wasn't mistaken, the person in front of him was very likely the one they were looking for.
"Oh? Let me see... Hmm, hey, this is the letter I wrote." The other person took the letter, glanced at it, and suddenly widened their eyes, looking somewhat incredulous.
"Huh?" Upon hearing this, he was stunned for a moment, and looked the other person up and down a few times: "But Mom said you... in what way do you resemble the Pink Sisters?" Shin-chan muttered to himself.
"Huh?" The other person seemed a little confused. Mingxu quickly waved his hand and said, "I'm sorry, we are your pen pals, Meiya's children. I'm Xiaoxu, and this is Xiaoxin. Hello." As he spoke, Mingxu led Xiaoxin to bow to the aunt and said politely.
"Oh? You're Misae's children." The aunt was also taken aback when she saw them and said with some surprise.
“Yes, we recently stumbled upon these letters and found that they weren’t far from where we live, so we got curious and came to take a look,” Mingxu explained.
"Oh my, come in, come in!" Aunt Xiaohui's face immediately lit up with a delighted smile as she stepped aside to make way for the doorway. "I really didn't expect that Meiya would have children as big as you. Time really flies." As she spoke, she carried the box into the house. "Please have a seat, I'll go get you some juice."
Shin-chan and Ming-xu exchanged a glance and followed him inside. The house was simply and warmly furnished; there was no luxurious swimming pool or mountains of chocolate as Shin-chan had imagined—just an ordinary family home. Shin-chan couldn't help but look around and whispered to Ming-xu, "It seems... a little different from what Mom described."
Mingxu glared at him helplessly, signaling him not to talk nonsense.
"Here, have some juice." Aunt Xiaohui came over with two glasses of orange juice and placed them on the coffee table in front of them. "How is your mother doing lately? We lost contact after we got married, it's such a pity."
"Mom is fine, but she's very busy every day, taking care of me, my sister Xiaokui, and Dad," Mingxu replied politely.
"Oh? You have a younger sister? That's wonderful!" Aunt Xiaohui smiled even more broadly. "By the way, why did you suddenly decide to come looking for me?"
“It’s Shin-chan,” Mingxu pointed to Shin-chan, who was still looking around. “He saw his mother’s letter and heard that you have a swimming pool and an endless supply of chocolates, and that you look like the Pink Sisters, so he insisted on dragging me here to find you.”
"Pfft—" Aunt Xiaohui couldn't help but laugh. "Silly child, that was all just bragging when I was little. My family didn't have a swimming pool, just a regular little yard. Eating chocolate was probably just a lie to Misae. But since my family ran a convenience store, eating chocolate was a common thing. As for the Pink Sisters..." She touched her face, "maybe it was because I liked to imitate their hairstyles back then."
Upon hearing this, Shin-chan deflated like a punctured balloon, drooping his head: "Ah... I see..."
"However," Aunt Xiaohui changed the subject, taking out an exquisite candy box from the cabinet, opening the lid to reveal it filled with candies of various colors, "although we don't have a swimming pool or endless chocolates, Auntie has just received some fruit candies and chocolates. Why don't you try some?" With that, she led them to the convenience store: "Choose whatever you like, it's on Auntie."
"Thank you~" The two little ones looked around, nodded, and politely took one bag, not taking any more.
The aunt searched inside the house and found letters from her past conversations with Misae.
"Found it, found it! This is the letter your mother wrote. Let me read it to you. Hello, Huizi. I was very surprised when I read your letter last time because many people say I look a lot like Xiaomei from Pink Sisters. Let's sing their songs together sometime."
"Oh, right, my dad's a captain flying international routes, and my mom's a flight attendant, of course. It sounds like I'm bragging, I'm so embarrassed. Actually, my English is pretty good too, and I think I'll probably become a flight attendant like my mom someday. I'll write to you again next time, bye-bye, Misae." The aunt couldn't help but laugh as she read this, then looked at them: "How's your mom doing? Has she become a flight attendant yet?"
"Um, can we not answer this question?" Mingxu and Xiaoxin exchanged a glance, their lips twitching.
The aunt smiled when she saw this and didn't say anything more.
After a brief greeting, she saw the two little ones out. She didn't mention going to see Misae or anything like that. After all, they were pen pals in the past, and sometimes, it's better to leave that relationship in the past.
After the two little ones returned home, they looked at Misae watching TV inside the house and fell silent for a moment. They were both bragging.
