Chapter 1524 Embarking on the Road to Gold Medals (Part 2)
Misae looked at Shin-chan and nodded in satisfaction: "Let's begin!"
"Come on!" Shin-chan said, waving his slipper. Inadvertently, the slipper slipped out of his hand and flew towards Misae. Mingxu picked up a toy and threw it, knocking the slipper away. He looked at Shin-chan with some helplessness: "You have to hold onto your slipper carefully."
"Okay~" Xiaoxin looked at Mingxu with a grin.
"Seriously, be careful, make sure you hold the racket properly."
"But these are slippers," Shin-chan said seriously.
"You have to hold the slipper that's replacing the racket properly, like this, like this!" Misae said, swinging the rice spoon around.
"Like this, like this!" Shin-chan exclaimed, mimicking Misae's gesture.
"Yes, yes, it's about to start! Come on!" Misae said, hitting the ball at Shin-chan.
Shin-chan blinked, his wrist nimbly twisted, and his slipper hit the ping-pong ball with a "smack".
The ball, spinning, flew towards Misae. She hurriedly raised her rice spoon to block it, but with a "clang," the spoon was hit by the ball, which then drew a comical arc in the air and fell into the fish tank in the kitchen.
Misae looked at the ball spinning in the water, then at Shin-chan's smug grin as he held up his slippers, and her lips twitched.
Mingxu silently retrieved the ball and handed it to her: "Perhaps we should consider switching to a different sport?"
"No! Let's try again! Let's try with a real racket!" Misae said, picking up the racket and looking at Shin-chan: "Let's try again. Be careful this time, don't drop it."
"Okay." Shin-chan nodded, and then started swinging his racket.
"Hmm, very good, very good. As expected, playing with slippers doesn't work well. Okay, Shin-chan, let's try again!" Misae watched Shin-chan serve again.
"Watch this!" Shin-chan, holding his racket, instinctively closed his eyes as the ball flew towards him, and forcefully swung his racket at the ball.
With a loud "bang," the ball grazed the edge of the racket and flew out, hitting a picture frame hanging on the wall. The frame wobbled, and the photo inside, tilted to one side, was a picture of Shin-chan and Shiro. Misae sighed, rubbing her forehead: "Is this ping-pong or target practice? How can you possibly catch the ball with your eyes closed!"
Shin-chan pointed innocently at the racket and said, "But Mom said to hit it hard, and I already hit it really hard." He then held up the racket to show Misae.
Misae was about to explode, but then she realized it seemed like she was reaping what she had sown, so she shook her head and thought, "Never mind, I'll think about it some more."
After pausing Shin-chan's training, Misae started preparing lunch. After everyone finished eating, Misae washed the dishes in the kitchen, pondering, "Seriously, what kind of sport is that kid really suited for?"
"Mom, it's terrible, it's terrible!" Shin-chan suddenly shouted urgently from the living room.
"This is bad." Mingxu rolled his eyes at Xiaoxin.
"What's wrong?" Misae came out and looked at Shin-chan with a puzzled expression.
"The TV seems to be broken; I can't change the channel." Xiaoxin kept pressing the remote control, but the TV just wouldn't change the channel.
"I think it's because the remote control batteries are dead," Mingxu said casually, but he didn't move and continued flipping through the book. He wondered what was wrong.
Misae nodded, but then paused, looking at Shin-chan's actions: "His actions..."
Suddenly, Misae remembered something and a smile appeared on her face. Mingxu looked at Misae's smile and then at Shin-chan. Could it be that she had thought of something again?
"Hehe~ I finally succeeded!" Xiaoxin finally managed to change the channel, his face full of pride: "Xiaoxu, I'm amazing, right?"
"It's just the last bit of power left on the battery," Mingxu said, shrugging.
Misae then took out two dusters and looked at Shin-chan: "Shin-chan, would you like to play with a rapier with Mommy?"
"A rapier?" Shin-chan was taken aback.
"Whoever touches the other person's body with this first wins, but since this is practice, you have to be gentle." Misae said, handing the duster to Shin-chan and giving him instructions.
Mingxu hesitated, wanting to say something but stopping himself. Xiaoxin had practiced kendo, so sometimes, it was hard to say what he meant.
Misae didn't pay any attention and looked at Shin-chan: "It's about to begin!"
So they exchanged a few blows, but Shin-chan didn't manage to touch Misae. Shin-chan even started dodging, which looked like he was having a lot of fun.
Misae was a little tired when the phone suddenly rang. Misae was startled: "Ah, who could be calling?" As she spoke, Misae subconsciously ignored Shin-chan and turned to answer the phone.
"There's an opportunity!" Shin-chan saw this and poked at Misae's chrysanthemum.
"Wait! We can't attack now." Mingxu hurriedly grabbed Xiaoxin's duster, saying helplessly, "This attack is even more powerful than the Thousand Years of Death."
Misae realized what was happening and immediately took a step back, looking at Shin-chan speechlessly: "That's foul play! You're really awful. Luckily, Asahi is here. I'll deal with you after I finish this call!" After saying that, Misae glared at Shin-chan and went to answer the phone.
Hiroshi's voice came from the other end of the phone: "Hello, Misae? I have to work overtime tonight, so I might be back late. Don't wait for me for dinner."
Misae replied "Okay," but then caught a glimpse of Shin-chan sneaking up behind her with a duster in his hand. She quickly turned around and glared at him: "Don't you dare sneak up on me!"
Shin-chan immediately stopped what he was doing, pretending to straighten his collar, and muttered, "I was just practicing my elegant posture."
After hanging up the phone, Misae put her hands on her hips and looked at Shin-chan: "Alright, let's continue now, but this time we need to follow the rules. No sneak attacks when people aren't looking, understand?"
Shin-chan nodded, then suddenly raised a duster and pointed it at Misae's hair: "Mom, there's dust in your hair! Let me brush it off for you!" He was about to swing it when Misae quickly blocked him with the duster: "What's this? Has fencing practice turned into a dust-removal event?"
The two exchanged blows, the dusters whistling through the air, while Xiao Xiao Kui giggled beside them. Ming Xu put down his book and looked helplessly at the chaotic scene: "I think you two should switch to sumo wrestling. At least you won't make the house look like it's just been hit by a typhoon."
The two stopped and looked around. Wow, it really was a bit chaotic.
With a sigh, Misae shook her head: "Sigh~ It seems that Shin-chan's road to the gold medal is really too difficult."
"Ding-dong~" The auntie has come to visit.
"Hello, Mrs. Nohara."
"Oh, Mrs. Kitamoto, what's wrong?" Misae looked at her curiously.
"I'm here today because I have something to tell you. This is a request from my friend. He said if there are any suitable candidates, I must introduce them to him." He then took out a flyer.
Looking at the muscles on his face, Misae was taken aback: "Ah, Asahi and Shin-chan are only 5 years old."
"What? Ah, no, no, it's not about them participating, it's about you." The aunt shook her head and pointed at Misae.
"Huh? I'm participating???" Misae's eyes widened immediately.
"Yes, when I saw you just now, it suddenly struck me that Mrs. Nohara would be very suitable for this kind of sport," the woman explained.
The little ones looked curiously at the contents of the flyer, then glanced at Misae, before turning away and shrugging, looking helpless.
"Huh? What do you mean?!" Misae looked at the little ones with annoyance.
"Muscular man~" Xiaoxin and Mingxu gestured over there.
Misae shook her head decisively: "I think there's absolutely no way I can do that..."
"Really? What a pity..." The older woman looked at Misae with regret, chatted for a few more minutes, and then turned and left.
Misae looked at the older woman, then at Shin-chan, and sighed again. Shin-chan is really hard to train.
