Chapter 1416 Lunch and Dinner Repeated
Chapter 1416 Lunch and Dinner Repeated
"What do you want to eat for dinner?" Misae poked her head out of the kitchen and asked the little ones.
"Oh, we told you, will you cook for us?" Shin-chan asked Misae curiously.
Misae nodded: "I can cook all kinds of home-style dishes."
"Oh? Really?" Mingxu looked at Meiya, not entirely sure either.
"What kind of home-style dishes?" Shin-chan asked again.
"It's just home-cooked food! I'm asking what you want to eat now." Misae looked at them helplessly, unable to say anything for a long time.
"Um, braised pork?" Mingxu suggested.
"No, that's too much trouble, and it'll take a long time." Misae shook her head decisively.
"I want to eat now..." Shin-chan was interrupted by Misae before he could finish speaking: "Wait a minute, cookies are out of the question!"
"Ah! But what I want to eat most right now are the seasonal matsutake mushroom cookies!" Shin-chan puffed out his cheeks and looked at Misae with dissatisfaction.
"Dinner's ready! Today's dinner!" Misae rolled her eyes at Shin-chan, then felt a gaze on her and her lips twitched: "Shin-chan, don't look at me like that."
“Braised pork and white rice are also a proper meal,” Mingxu said quietly.
Shin-chan shook his head: "You should have said so earlier."
"I already told you!" Misae said irritably.
"Perfect for the evening~"
"Mmm, that's the most suitable." Misae looked at Shin-chan expectantly, hoping he would say something simple.
"It's delicious!" Xiaoxin said casually. Mingxu raised an eyebrow, knowing that Xiaoxin wouldn't say anything more.
"What?!" Misae rolled her eyes at Shin-chan. Was she really going to have to make braised pork? That's such a hassle!
“Braised pork isn’t difficult either,” Mingxu said to Meiya again.
“That’s right. Xiaoxu said that Mom wouldn’t do it, so these are the things that Mom should be responsible for thinking about.” Xiaoxin agreed, looking at Misae.
Misae sighed, "Oh dear, I shouldn't have asked you guys at all."
"Ding-dong~" Just then, the doorbell rang. The group was startled and went outside to find that it was a deliveryman.
"Thank you for your hard work." After signing for the package, Misae took the box and looked at the address on it: "Oh, it was sent from Akita."
"What did Akita's grandfather send us?" the children asked Misae curiously.
"Maybe they're limited-edition seasonal cookies~" Shin-chan looked at Misae with a grin, his face showing a hint of certainty.
"No, it won't happen." Mingxu shook his head decisively.
"Why?" Shin-chan asked, puzzled.
"Because what's written on it is fruits and vegetables, not snacks," Mingxu said casually, pointing to the delivery slip.
Misae opened the box directly, revealing its contents: "Oh, it's shiitake mushrooms."
"Hey, wait a minute, maybe there's a ton of money stuffed under the mushroom!" Shin-chan said with a greedy look on his face.
"You're overthinking it. The courier wouldn't dare send money directly. Besides, when has our family ever needed Grandpa's help?" Mingxu looked at Xiaoxin speechlessly. When did this kid become so greedy for money?
“That’s right, Xiaoxu is right, it’s completely impossible.” Misae rolled her eyes at Shin-chan, then picked up all the mushrooms, leaving the bottom of the box empty: “See, there’s nothing there except mushrooms.”
"Ugh~ What is it?" Shin-chan puffed out his cheeks, looking very disappointed.
Misae was quite happy, looking at the shiitake mushrooms in front of her: "Great, these are perfect for making shiitake mushroom rice."
He held the shiitake mushroom and smelled it: "Hmm, Grandpa sent us some really nice ones."
"Of course, Grandpa wouldn't entrust us, his only grandchildren, with such a burden, would he?" Mingxu said, a hint of pride on his face. In fact, the three of them were indeed the only three generations of the Nohara family, plus the Kumamoto family.
As for my uncle's side, they are not related by blood.
Misae nodded, then picked up the shiitake mushrooms: "After cooking them, we can buy some sashimi."
After making the decision, Misae decisively grabbed her things and went out to buy them. Mingxu looked at the remaining two little ones and thought, "Mom is really decisive sometimes. But is it really that hard to cook braised pork?"
In the evening, Hiroshi returned home.
"I am back!"
Upon returning to the house, he saw the dishes on the table, and a hint of helplessness appeared on Hiroshi's face.
Misae hadn't noticed yet, and said with a smile, "Akita sent a lot of shiitake mushrooms, so I cooked shiitake mushroom rice."
"I'm so disappointed that these aren't seasonal cookies." Shin-chan looked dejected.
Mingxu looked at Guangzhi and asked, "Dad, you look strange?"
"Uh..." Hiroshi didn't know what to say for a moment.
"Is Dad disappointed too?" Shin-chan asked Hiroshi curiously.
"What's wrong with you?" Misae asked, looking at Hiroshi with curiosity.
Hiroshi scratched his head: "I also had mushroom rice for lunch today."
"Huh? Really? But, the side dish isn't going to be sashimi too, is it?" Misae looked at Hiroshi with some uncertainty.
Hiroshi nodded: "Yes, sashimi, vegetable salad, perilla and eggplant pickles, a perfect repeat."
"Oh my god."
"Wow~ Daddy's so amazing!" Everyone looked at Hiroshi; it seemed he and Misae were on the same wavelength today.
After a few more brief chats, the night passed quickly.
The next day, when Misae was dropping Hiroshi off at work, she looked at him and said, "It would be terrible if it happened again today, so you have to send me what you ate for lunch."
"Huh? It can't be that coincidental, can it?"
"Who knows this?"
"I'll send it to you when I have time."
"Just take a picture and send it to me, that's all you need to do."
"I know, I know."
Don't forget!
"Ah."
Listening to their conversation, Mingxu also felt helpless. However, given what they had said, he figured the dishes for the next few days would most likely be the same.
As noon approached, Misae, seeing that Hiroshi hadn't sent her any messages, sent him a message.
Hiroshi was startled when his phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was a message from Misae: "Misa, huh? Have you decided on lunch yet? It's only 10 o'clock..." Hiroshi was speechless and didn't know what to say for a moment, so he didn't reply and continued working.
While cleaning, Misae waited for Hiroshi's message, but received no reply. She complained, "Why didn't you send it to me? Honestly, I only asked him to send it because I was being kind."
Inside the kindergarten, several children were having lunch. Mingxu and Xiaoxin opened their lunchboxes, and unsurprisingly, their lunch today was mushroom rice.
"Ah~ mushroom rice! I love it the most!" Zheng Nan exclaimed excitedly when he saw their lunchboxes.
"Do you want some? I had mushroom rice last night and this morning." Shin-chan pushed the lunchbox to Masao without hesitation, wanting to exchange.
"Um, eating the same thing over and over again will get boring, right?" Kazama looked at the two little ones' expressions, and it seemed they weren't too willing either.
