Villain Ch 962. Do You Have Tentacles Fetish Now?

Red_King nodded, his smile widening. "Exactly. You took responsibility, tried to hold everyone together when things were going to hell."

Father^Alex looked down at his hands, his mind replaying the chaotic moments of the battle. "It didn't work, though," he said quietly. "In the end, it wasn't enough. We are the losers," he said again, his voice filled with a sense of defeat.

Red_King, however, seemed unperturbed. "It doesn't matter, Alex," he said in a relaxed tone, his small smile still playing on his lips. "At least we tried." He looked around at the revived players, some still nursing their wounds, others quietly discussing what went wrong. "We will win someday," he added, his voice filled with a hope that was either genuine or wishful thinking.

Father^Alex glanced at him, the corners of his mouth twitching in a reluctant smile. "Yeah, I hope we will win someday," he said, though his tone was less confident.

Red_King nudged him teasingly. "What's the matter? Don't you believe we will win?" he asked, trying to lift the mood.

Father^Alex shook his head slightly. "No, it's not that. I was just thinking about something else."

Red_King raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. "The siren? Or the Kraken queen?" he asked, his tone teasing. He leaned toward Father^Alex, adopting a mock-serious expression. "The Kraken queen is a tough one, isn't she? A hard-to-get woman with a tough exterior but a soft heart inside. Stay tuned for updates on My Virtual Library Empire

I could feel it from her tentacles," he said in a low voice, the teasing clear despite his attempt to sound serious.

Father^Alex turned to him, his expression thoughtful. "Do you think it's just natural talent? Or is there something more?"

Before Red_King could answer, they were interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching. They both looked up to see Mastercraft walking toward them with a slightly exasperated expression on his face.

"Here you are," Mastercraft said, his voice a mix of relief and mild annoyance. "I was looking for you guys. I even went back to the Black Castle, but I didn't find you. The emperor and those crazy girls have also left." His voice sounded like a complaint.

Red_King and Father^Alex exchanged glances before Red_King responded. "Yeah, we know that. That's why we are here," he said, gesturing to the bench beside them. "Join us."

Mastercraft sat down heavily, rubbing the back of his neck. "That was one hell of a fight," he said, his voice carrying the weariness of someone who had given everything and still came up short. "But damn, it's frustrating. We keep getting closer, but it's like they're always one step ahead."

Red_King nodded in agreement. "That's what we were just talking about. No matter how much we plan, how much we train, it feels like we're always playing catch-up. And Al... he's just on another level."

Mastercraft let out a low whistle, shaking his head. "You're telling me. I've watched that recording of him going up against the Devil Emperor at least a dozen times, and I still can't figure out how he did it. It wasn't just skill—it was like he knew exactly what he needed to do in every circumstances."

Father^Alex leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he stared at the ground. "That's what worries me," he admitted. "If we can't figure out how to bridge that gap, how can we ever hope to beat the emperor or his subordinates? We need to find a way to level the playing field, or we're just going to keep losing."

The sound of a Mass Healing skill being activated caught their attention, drawing Red_King, Father^Alex, and Mastercraft out of their somber reflections. They turned toward the crowd near the healing fountain, where the light from the spell was radiating.
