Chapter 925 Justify
Chapter 925 Justify
Villain Ch 925. Justify@@@@
Emma felt a flicker of defiance, her pride bubbling up despite the relief she felt at his acceptance of their apology. She turned to him, her lips parting to speak. "But—" she began, her voice carrying a hint of the frustration she still felt.
Her words halted abruptly when she saw Allen's eyebrows lift once more, a silent but clear signal that he wasn't looking for excuses. He was willing to forgive, but not without a reminder of the line that had been crossed. Emma's heart skipped a beat, and she realized her mistake. She shouldn't have tried to justify her actions right after apologizing.
Emma's cheeks flushed slightly, a mix of embarrassment and stubbornness. "Sorry," she said again, her voice softer, more sincere. "I just... I guess I'm still trying to process everything."
Seeing Emma's genuine regret, Allen decided it was time to shift the conversation to something lighter. He leaned back slightly, a thoughtful smile crossing his face. "By the way, Emma," he began, "thank you for the fries. It was a nice surprise."
Emma's eyes lit up with curiosity and a touch of pride. "Did you like it?" she asked, leaning towards Allen, eager for his response.
Allen nodded, his smile widening. "Yeah, it was really good. I appreciated the effort and the message."
Emma beamed, clearly pleased with herself. "Oh, great! It was the first time I tried cooking," she admitted, her grin spreading from ear to ear. "I guess I have a talent for it."
Allen chuckled awkwardly, not wanting to dampen her spirits. The fries had been decent, but he didn't want to say anything that might reignite any tension. He was content to let her have her moment of pride. "It was a good start," he said diplomatically.
But before the conversation could drift into another awkward silence, Azura, who had been observing with a bemused expression, interjected. "Emma, no one suddenly has a cooking talent just because they succeeded in frying French fries," she said, a frown and a cringe on her face. "It's not exactly gourmet cooking."
Emma's face fell slightly, and she turned to Azura with a mix of annoyance and hurt. "Well, everyone has to start somewhere," she retorted, her pride wounded. "And for your information, it wasn't just about the cooking. It was about the thought behind it."
The servants continued to bring out the dishes: a perfectly roasted chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables, and a rich, aromatic gravy. The presentation was immaculate.
The family began to serve themselves, Jordan broke the silence once more. "Allen, how is the preparation for your conference coming along?"
Allen swallowed a bite of chicken. "It's going well, Dad. I've been finalizing the schedule and meeting with the vendors. Everything should be set by the end of the week."
Jordan nodded approvingly. "Good. This conference is important. I'm counting on you to make sure it's a success."

"I won't let you down," Allen replied, determined to meet his father's high standards.
Jordan turned his attention to Emma, his piercing gaze softening slightly as he looked at his youngest daughter. "Emma, how is your homeschooling going? Have you managed to reschedule your lessons as we discussed?"
Emma felt a flush of embarrassment rise to her cheeks. She had been so caught up in the day's events that she hadn't gotten around to talking to her teachers. "Um, well, Dad..." she began, her voice trailing off. She glanced at Allen and Azura for support, but their expressions mirrored her own unease.
"I haven't talked to the teachers yet," she admitted, her voice small. "I've been meaning to, but I just haven't gotten around to it."
Jordan's expression hardened slightly, though he kept his voice even. "Emma, you know how important your education is. We've discussed this at length. I need you to take it seriously."
"I know, Dad," Emma said quickly, feeling the weight of her father's disappointment. "I promise I'll get it sorted out. I just... I got distracted."
