Chapter 856 Punishment For Lazy People!
Villain Ch 856. Punishment For Lazy People!
Allen: I know. I haven't been to the gym for like a week. My muscles feel stiff.
Gerry: Ha! That's a punishment for lazy people! You need to be consistent, man!
Allen: In my defense, I was busy moving. Since everything has settled, I want to return to my normal activities.
Gerry: Nice! 8 AM as usual, okay? Don't be late!
Allen: Got it!
Allen had just put his phone to his side when it buzzed again with another message from Gerry. He picked it up, curiosity piqued.
Gerry: Oh right. I forgot to tell you. Sophia approached me last time at the gym. But she didn't ask about you. This is very strange.
Allen frowned, sitting up slightly. He quickly typed a response.
Allen: What did she say?
Gerry: All her questions related to the gym. Like what kind of gym equipment she should use and how many sets she should do.
Allen: And you answered her?
Gerry: Yeah. There's no way I bark at her or ignore her. She asked me nicely.
Groggily, he reached out, fumbling for his phone on the side table. His fingers brushed against the smooth surface, and he grasped it, squinting at the bright screen.
Allen answered the call with a sleepy, mumbled "Hello," not bothering to open his eyes. His voice was thick with the remnants of a deep sleep.
"Allen!" Gerry's voice boomed through the speaker, startling Allen. "It's already 9 o'clock in the morning! Where are you?"
Allen's eyes flew open in surprise, his heart racing. He quickly checked the clock on his phone, only to discover it was actually 7:11 AM. He groaned, frustration bubbling up as he realized he'd been duped again. Gerry had a knack for pulling this particular prank, knowing that Allen was easily panicked and gullible when he was half-asleep.
"Gerry, can you stop that? It's not funny," Allen said, his voice edged with irritation.
Gerry laughed heartily on the other end of the line. "Sorry, man. I couldn't resist. You know how you are when you're sleepy. It's just too easy!"
Allen sighed, rubbing his eyes and trying to shake off the lingering sleepiness. "Yeah, yeah, I know. But seriously, you need to find a new trick."
"Maybe," Gerry replied, still chuckling. "Anyway, I wanted to make sure you're up and ready for the gym. We're still on for 8, right?" Read latest chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
Allen swung his legs over the side of the bed, stretching his arms above his head. "Yeah, we're still on. I'll be there. Just give me a few minutes to fully wake up."
"Good. I'll see you soon then," Gerry said, his tone returning to normal. "And sorry again for the prank. I just couldn't help myself."
Allen rolled his eyes, a small smile playing on his lips despite his annoyance. "It's fine. I'll see you at the gym."
He hung up the phone and set it back on the side table. Allen took a moment to collect himself, the initial rush of adrenaline from Gerry's prank fading away. He let out a deep breath, his mind now fully awake and alert.
The room was quiet, the early morning light filtering through the curtains, casting soft shadows on the walls. Allen stood up, his muscles still a bit stiff from sleep, and made his way to the bathroom. He splashed cold water on his face, the shock of it helping to clear the last remnants of sleep from his mind.
