Chapter 817 Who is Evan?
Villain Ch 817. Who is Evan?
He put down the pen and felt the sweat clinging to his body and hands, finally realizing just how uncomfortable he was. Allen glanced at the clock and noticed he had enough time before breakfast. Deciding he needed to clear his mind and refresh himself, he got up and headed to the bathroom for a shower.
Allen closed the bathroom door behind him and turned on the shower, the sound of water hitting the tiles was almost therapeutic. He decided to play his favorite music playlist, hoping it would help lift his mood and wash away the remnants of his anxiety. The first notes of a familiar song filled the bathroom, mingling with the sound of the running water.
Just as he stepped under the warm spray, letting the water cascade over him, a knocking sound came from the front of the room, followed by a voice. "Good morning, sir. Miss Azura looks forward to meeting you. Can she come in?" Kai called from behind the door. But Allen, of course, didn't hear it.
Kai and Azura stood in front of Allen's bedroom door. Kai looked relaxed and casual, while Azura fidgeted slightly, her fingers playing with the hem of her shirt. She had been the one to ask Kai to accompany her to meet Allen, feeling a mix of curiosity and unease.
Azura had spent most of the previous night feeling restless, her mind churning with questions about why Allen hadn't asked for her help with planning the party.
That morning, her curiosity had gotten the better of her. She had approached Kai, hoping he might shed some light on the situation. From their conversation, she realized that Allen's plan wasn't finished yet, which only added to her intrigue.
"Why didn't he ask for my help?" Azura muttered, more to herself than to Kai.
She knew it might be related to Allen's old family. Allen's past was a touchy subject, one he never spoke about to her. It made sense that he might want to deal with it privately. But part of her couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it. Was there something about his old family that he didn't want her to know? Or was he just trying to protect her from the messiness of his past? Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
Kai knocked on the door again, his knuckles tapping lightly against the wood. "Good morning, sir. Miss Azura looks forward to meeting you. Can she come in?" he called out once more. Silence greeted them again, thick and unyielding.
Azura nodded. "Yeah," she huffed.
The conversation wound down, Kai glanced at his watch and sighed. "I've got to get going. I'll see you both at breakfast," he said, giving Azura a pointed look as if to remind her to be respectful of Allen's space.
Azura nodded, her expression placid. "Sure, Kai. See you at breakfast," she replied, her tone even.
Kai gave a final nod and they both left.
Pretending to head to her own room, she waited until Kai's footsteps faded completely. Azura peeked and watched him go, maintaining her calm demeanor until he turned the corner and was out of sight. She took a deep breath, her heart pounding with anticipation.
Once she was sure he was gone, she quickly retraced her steps back to Allen's door. She reached out, her hand trembling slightly as she grasped the handle. With a silent prayer that it wouldn't be locked, she turned the knob and pushed the door open. To her relief, it swung open easily.
Azura slipped inside, closing the door quietly behind her. The room was neat. It felt charged with the thrill of discovery. She moved slowly, her eyes sweeping across the space, taking in the cluttered desk, the papers scattered about, and the laptop still open on the desk.
"Allen?" she called softly, but there was no response. The room was empty.
Azura walked further into the room, her curiosity driving her forward. She approached the table, her fingers lightly brushing over the papers. She picked up one of the sheets, her eyes scanning the words. It was the guest list. There were notes scribbled in Allen's handwriting.
"Need a different design for this guest. It should not mention my name at all," she muttered, frowning. "Who is Evan?" she muttered in confusion.@@@@
