Chapter 11 Joining the GUTS Team
Chapter 11 Joining the GUTS Team
That day, Yang Guang returned home and stayed there without going anywhere. He decided to make plans for his future.
Yang Guang first listed some problems:
First of all, without proof of identity in this world, there are many places I can't go; I can't just keep going into the mountains.
Secondly, since it's impossible for an individual to obtain information about monsters immediately, relying on television news will always leave them a step behind.
Moreover, it's inconvenient to run around while fighting monsters, and if they're too far away, you won't be able to reach them in time.
Then, there are many more formidable enemies to come. Not to mention anything far off, we still can't defeat the final boss of the Ultraman Tiga storyline, the Great Conch. We need to find a way to continue strengthening ourselves.
It seems I still need to join the Victory Team! Megumi Iruma seems like a reliable person.
Having made up his mind, Yang Guang called Da Gu.
"Hello, is this Daigo? This is Yang Guang."
“It’s me. Oh, Hikari, what do you need me for?” Daigo asked.
“I do have something to take care of. When are you free? I’d like to meet with you. There are some things I’d like to talk to you about, is that alright?” Yang Guang said.
"Ah, okay, then tonight it is. I'm free tonight," Daigo replied.
“Then, see you at the coffee shop at 9 pm…” Yang Guang said.
That evening, in a coffee shop, Yang Guang and Da Gu were in a private room.
"What would you like to drink? It's on me," Yang Guang said.
They both ordered a cup of coffee and started drinking it.
"Daigo, has your Victory Team been busy lately?" Yang Guang asked.
"I'm still quite busy. Monsters are appearing all over the world now. Although they don't appear every day, there are still many things to deal with. Oh, by the way, what did you call me here for today?" Daigo asked.
“Daigo, or I’ll call you Ultraman Tiga.” Yang Guang’s words shocked Daigo.
"Don't be nervous, I am Ultraman Geed," Yang Guang continued, casually pulling out his Spark Lens to show Daigo.
"Ah~ So you are him. How did you know I was Ultraman Tiga?" Daigo asked.
“Because I was there that day, and I saw you turn into light and fly into Ultraman Tiga’s statue,” Yang Guang replied.
"I see. So where did you come from? Are there any other pyramids?" Daigo asked.
“Of course there are no other pyramids; I woke up in a cave,” Yang Guang said.
"Daigo, I also want to join the GUTS team. We can fight monsters together, protect humanity from monsters, and maintain world peace. What do you think?" Yang Guang suggested.
"That's great," Daigo said. "If it were you, I'm sure you could pass the test."
“But now there’s a problem! I don’t have any identification.” Yang Guang said with difficulty.
"Huh! How could that be? Everyone has identification!" Daigo asked in confusion.
“Daigo, I’m different from you. You were born into this world, while I wasn’t born in this era,” Yang Guang said.
In fact, Yang Guang himself hasn't figured out his own situation yet. Does he possess the light gene like Daigo, or did he become Ultraman by chance due to time travel?
“I know that Captain Megumi is a trustworthy person. It’s clear that she firmly believes that Ultraman is humanity’s good friend. So I hope you can arrange to meet her. I want to talk to her and believe she can solve my problem,” Yang Guang said.
"I see, I understand. I'll talk to the captain for you then," Daigo said.
The next day, Daigo said to Megumi, "Captain, do you have time tonight? A friend of mine would like to meet you."
"Your friend? To see me?" Kijima asked doubtfully.
“Yes, he might need your help. Anyway, you’ll see when you meet him,” Daigo said.
“Okay,” Megumi replied.
"That's great! Thank you, Captain," Daigo said.
"Don't rush to thank me, I might not be able to help him," said Kei.
It was 9 p.m., at the same coffee shop and the same private room as yesterday. Yang Guang, Daigo, and Ikumi Megumi sat facing each other.
“Captain Intermediary, hello! I’m Yang Guang, you can call me Guang. I asked Da Gu to invite you here because I need your help with something,” Yang Guang said.
"What is it?" asked Megumi Kijima.
“I need you to make me an identity document,” Yang Guang said.
"Identity document?" Kei asked doubtfully.
Yang Guang and Daigo exchanged a glance, and Yang Guang said, "Actually, I'm not human! I'm Ultraman Geed." After saying that, he took out his Spark Lens and transformed into Ultraman Geed, though his body was kept at a normal human size.
Megumi's eyes widened in disbelief. Daigo also feigned surprise.
"I won't harm humans, but I need your help to integrate into this world. I want to join the GUTS team so it will be easier for me to eliminate monsters. Please!" Yang Guang said.
"Then why did you find me?" asked Megumi Kijima.
“Because I’ve observed you for a long time, and you are a trustworthy person! From the beginning, you believed that Ultraman was a friend of humanity, and most importantly, you are a descendant of Yuzare from 30 million years ago.” Yang Guang said, transforming back into human form.
After a long talk, Ju Jianhui and Yang Guang reached a consensus and agreed to help Yang Guang.
The next day, Megumi brought Yang Guang his identification and arranged for him to join the Victory Team's reserve team for training. That's fast! Yang Guang packed his things; there was no need to rent a place anymore, since he'd be living at TPC headquarters from now on.
...A little over a month later, Yang Guang completed all his training and successfully passed the assessment. After all, he was already a superhuman; his learning ability far surpassed normal human speed. Even excellent soldiers needed 3-6 months of training. Yang Guang, however, only took a little over a month, leaving others in awe.
Among them, his combat and physical fitness skills are particularly outstanding, and he is almost unbeatable.
Secondly, they learn firearms very quickly. Anyone can shoot a gun, and with their strong reflexes and superhuman eyesight, their firearms scores are among the best.
I already know how to fly, it's just that flying an airplane is a bit more difficult, but with my strong memory, quick reflexes, and robust physique, I can learn it quickly and become proficient in it rapidly.
Then came the basics of combat, and rules and regulations such as precautions. I had no prior experience with these, so it took me some time to memorize them.
Early in the morning, Yang Guang arrived at the Victory Team's command room.
"Reporting, Captain! Yang Guang is here to report!" Yang Guang saluted to Ju Jianhui.
"Welcome to the Victory Team!" Megumi Kijima returned the greeting.
Everyone except Daigo was surprised.
"Aren't you Hikari? You've joined the Victory Team!" Shinjo exclaimed, both surprised and excited.
"Hikari, welcome to the team!" Daigo shouted.
"welcome."
"Welcome!" the others said.
"How about we grab a drink together after get off work to welcome our new colleague?" Horii suggested.
Although Horii has short legs, is a bit chubby, and his jokes aren't funny, he's still likable. And there's a reason for that!
"Okay."
"Great."
"no problem."
The team members are all very enthusiastic, and everyone on the winning team is easy to get along with.
During Yang Guang's training, two more incidents involving monsters occurred.
The first thing is, Machina. He came to Earth to pick up a girl named Saki.
Here's what happened: A device was unearthed at a construction site. The GUTS team was called in to examine it. Daigo and Rena arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection.
At that moment, a girl arrived and blew the whistle hanging around her neck. The device started moving to the music and sent a signal into space. The girl's name was Saki. She told Daigo that she was an alien who had come to Earth a long time ago, but the device had fallen into the sea. Therefore, she hadn't been able to tell Machina that she was there. Now that the device had been unearthed, she could send a message to Machina to come and take her back to Earth. She had been waiting for a very, very long time.
Machina received the signal and came to Earth to find Saki. In the end, Saki went back to space with Machina.
The second thing is related to Eblon cells.
Ryosuke, a researcher at the Space Development Center, secretly transplanted Ebloon cells into himself to become stronger. However, he lost control and transformed into a monster. Daigo eventually transformed into Ultraman Tiga, exhausting the monster's energy and returning Ryosuke to his original form. However, due to the long-term torment of the side effects, his body reached its limit, and he ultimately died.
