Chapter 46 The Perfect Summer Vacation is Ruined
"Severus, would you like to ride the cat? That way we can get out faster."
Before Severus could answer, Emeric transformed into a cat the size of a person and crouched on the ground. He compared the sizes and silently grew a little bigger.
The enormous cat's head brushed against Severus, causing him to frown and nearly fall to the ground. Fortunately, a tree caught him. The cat, sensing something was wrong, withdrew its head and drooped, its eyes darting upwards to observe Severus's expression.
"After Mr. Emerick turned into an animal, did his IQ also decrease? Did he finally lose patience with the poor old professor and prepare to murder him?"
"Mi" cat didn't do it on purpose.
If it were still a kitten, this kind of affectionate behavior would be adorable, but Emeric's current size has nothing to do with cuteness. A cat that can bite a person in one bite is standing there affectionately. This terrifying story made Severus unable to resist and directly slap the cat on the head. Instantly, Emeric's eyes became much clearer.
No one can resist riding a wild beast through the forest, and Severus was no exception. He sat on the giant cat, and as the cat rose, he instinctively grabbed two horns. The rough texture in his hand was similar to tree bark, and the vines wrapped around the horns were full of flowers. Severus very naturally plucked several flowers off.
"Meow, meow!" Don't pull my flower, it itches!
Then he got another slap on the head. "Don't move. If I fall, I'll shave all your hair off."
The vines grew from the corners, so when the flowers were picked, Emeric felt it, like someone had plucked a hair from his head—it was a little itchy and a little painful, and the uncomfortable cat twisted its body.
Severus carefully felt around the vines and found that they were growing from the corners. He didn't pull the vines, but picked a few flowers instead, and then stopped. Picking too many would be a waste, and besides, he could pick fresh ones anytime, so why use those that had been sitting for a long time?
Harry, on the other hand, was in much more pain.
At the beginning of summer vacation, he stayed at Penny's place for a week. After fulfilling the requirements of the Blood Magic, he immediately wrote to Draco, saying that he didn't want to stay there anymore and wanted to visit Draco.
"Dad, I'd like to invite Harry Potter to stay with us for a while. He's helped me a lot at school, and my brother Ellie likes him a lot too."
"Draco, you are a Slytherin, you cannot be friends with Gryffindors."
"But Dad, didn't you tell me to get along well with Harry Potter? We're getting along really well now, let him come here, come here, come here."
"Dad, if you don't agree, I'll tell Mom that you're bullying me and that you don't love me anymore."
Unable to get enough of the nagging, Lucius rubbed his temples in exasperation, waved his hand, and told Draco to get out of the study and stop making a fuss.
He began to doubt his decision to befriend Draco and Emeric. Draco had always been well-behaved and never acted so unreasonably; it must be Emeric who had corrupted him. The thought gave Lucius an even bigger headache; Emeric was going to be Draco's classmate for four more years.
Accompanying Harry was a woman in a black robe. Harry assumed she was from the Malfoy family, while Draco assumed she was from Dumbledore's side.
Lucius and Narcissa sat elegantly on the sofa, sipping tea, while Draco kept a close eye on the door; they were both waiting for Harry.
"Harry, welcome to Malfoy Manor. This is my father, Lucius Malfoy, and this is my mother, Narcissa Black."
"Uncle Lucius, Aunt Narcissa, hello, thank you so much for inviting me to your home."
Lucius nodded in satisfaction, partly because Draco's manners were impeccable, and partly because Harry, though reserved, was willing to greet people, which made him feel that he hadn't misjudged him.
Narcissa, standing beside him, gently beckoned Harry to come and sit next to her. She felt a pang of tenderness seeing a child Draco's age and softly patted Harry's head. "Try some of my cookies. Little Dragon loves them; I hope you will too."
After saying that, Narcissa glared at Lucius, telling him to tone it down or she'd make him pay. Lucius turned to the woman in black standing beside him, "Harry Potter is safely here. If there's nothing else, ma'am, you may leave."
"I'm sorry, Madam Malfoy, I am Salafina Amilouan. My master asked me to teach Harry Potter martial arts, and I will be staying here for a while." Salafina paused, then looked at Narcissa. "Mrs. Malfoy, I'll be in your care during this time, and young Malfoy will also need to study with Harry Potter."
As soon as the words were spoken, the expressions of the other four people in the living room were all different. Lucius was wondering if the "Mr." Salafina mentioned was Grindelwald; Narcissa was pleasantly surprised, as a mother, she was very happy that someone was willing to teach Draco, whose physical abilities were average; Harry felt a chill down his spine, he thought the days ahead would be very difficult; Draco felt like the sky had fallen, his wonderful summer vacation was going to turn into early to bed and early to rise every day for exercise.
Despite the two children's reluctant gazes, Sarafina still moved into Malfoy Manor, and her room was even very close to theirs.
After putting down her luggage, Salafina walked to Draco's bedroom door and knocked. "Mr. Malfoy, Mr. Potter, we need to talk."
Draco reluctantly opened the door and let Salafina in. Harry stood up from the floor and stood with Draco.
"Thank you very much for your cooperation, Mr. Potter. Young Master Emeric requires you to hold out for ten minutes. Mr. Malfoy, your requirement is to escape quickly."
She noticed the two children's confusion and explained, "Mr. Potter needs sufficient fighting skills to protect himself and others. Mr. Malfoy's identity is easily kidnapped and used to threaten Mr. Potter. Training will begin tomorrow. Keep your relationship a secret; I won't tell Big Malfoy."
Upon hearing the last sentence, Harry and Draco blushed deeply and awkwardly agreed to Salafina's request to complete the mission.
After calming himself down, Draco dragged Harry around Malfoy Manor. He figured he wouldn't have time to relax like this after today, so he wanted to make the most of the time.
Narcissa, upstairs, looked tenderly at the two cubs through the window. "Lucius, don't be so fierce. Isn't the little dragon happy now? Little Ellie has taught the little dragon a lot. He's a good boy."
Before Lucius could answer, Narcissa prepared to leave the study to prepare an afternoon snack for the children. "I understand, Cici. I like Little Dragon just the way he is."
