Chapter 6 Emptying the Treasury
Chapter 6 Emptying the Treasury
Su Yue was so happy she almost jumped for joy. She took out the seeds she had bought from her basket, intending to plant them in the soil of her space while she had the chance.
I searched the space but couldn't find a suitable tool, so I had to give up and wait until I went out to get some hoes or something to plant.
It was still early, and Su Yue had been walking all day. Even after taking the Marrow Cleansing Pill and the Strength Pill, she still felt very tired.
The original owner's body was severely malnourished and needed proper nourishment. This small frame didn't look like someone in their teens at all; they looked at most eight or nine.
If you don't take good care of yourself, you might not grow tall in the future.
Upon arriving at the bamboo house, Su Yue lay down and fell asleep shortly afterward.
When Su Yue woke up again, it was already pitch black outside.
After leaving the space, Su Yue went to the place she had chosen earlier to observe her surroundings and see what she could find.
So they cautiously began to climb over the wall and saw that it was probably an abandoned courtyard of the Qian family mansion.
I tiptoed down the wall. The yard was overgrown with weeds, all of which were dry because it hadn't rained for several months.
There was a well in the middle of the courtyard. Su Yue had seen many horror movies in modern times, and many scary ghosts crawled out of the well.
Su Yue dared not approach the well, and followed the moonlight to leave through a small side gate.
After wandering around the Qian residence for a long time and avoiding the servants, Su Yue still couldn't figure out where Master Qian lived. Instead, she followed the smell of medicine and found her way to the kitchen.
Watching an old nanny from the Qian family pour out the decocted medicine and hand it to the person waiting nearby.
After the man left with the medicine, Su Yue carefully followed behind him.
She followed him all the way to a large courtyard, and waited for the person to push open the door and go inside. Only then did Su Yue quietly approach the window against the wall, pick up a twig from the ground, and poke a hole in the window paper to look outside.
The room was filled with a dazzling array of items. If it weren't for the five or six people standing inside, and Su Yue being afraid of being discovered, she would have really wanted to take a good look.
Wait! There's a little girl pinned to the ground.
Su Yue couldn't see clearly from this side; she could only see through the gap between the people standing there that there was a girl being pressed down on the ground.
Then I heard a man talking inside.
"Mother, this is the fourth one already! Why is Father still not getting better? He must have been fooled by that old Taoist priest. I hope I don't run into him again, or he'll be in big trouble. Humph!"
The woman patted the man and comforted him, saying, "Come on, don't worry. The old Taoist priest said that nine 'eight characters' are needed to match the woman's heart's blood. This is only the fifth one. Why are you in such a hurry?"
"Mother, how can I not be worried? If something happens to Father, those uncles will take advantage of their age and do whatever they want to us. They're all a bunch of good-for-nothings." Qian Lai's anger was burning away his reason.
"Calm down, son, you go back first, leave this to me." Madam Qian didn't want her son's hands to get too blood on them, so she urged him to go back.
Of course she was afraid, but what did it matter when it came to her and her son's future wealth and glory?
She would do it even if it took the blood of nine women, let alone ninety.
Qian Lai listened to his mother and left as soon as he opened the door.
Su Yue saw Madam Qian instruct the old woman beside her to bring the medicine bowl that Qian had brought in closer to the girl who was being pressed down on the ground.
Only then did Su Yue realize why she couldn't hear any screams; her mouth had been gagged.
Two tall men pinned the girl down, while another man pulled out a knife and plunged it into her heart.
The old woman placed the medicine bowl on the wound to catch the gushing blood.
The little girl could kick her legs a few times at first, but soon she stopped responding.
Seeing that the blood had been drained enough, Madam Qian instructed the old woman to bring the bowl over, and she personally fed it to the half-dead Mr. Qian lying on the bed.
Only after the two burly men carried the dead girl out the door did Su Yue realize what a murder scene she had witnessed.
Su Yue wanted to follow them to see where the two burly men had dumped the person, but the scene she had just witnessed made her legs tremble.
Su Yue rubbed her legs a couple of times, then jogged after him.
The more Yue followed Su Yue, the more familiar she seemed, until they reached the overgrown courtyard she had entered, where she watched two men throw the man into the well and then quickly leave.
Su Yue patted her chest, relieved that she hadn't gone over to look out of curiosity when she came in.
According to Madam Qian, there should be at least five corpses in the well, including the one that was just thrown in.
This was truly a cannibalistic ancient era; any wealthy family could easily take someone's life.
If I hadn't transmigrated here, the original owner of this body would either have starved to death, or like these girls, have had her heart's blood extracted and her body thrown into this well.
Su Yue was truly unwilling to accept this.
I feel indignant for the original owner of this body, and also for the girls who died after having their heart's blood taken from them.
She had to do something.
But what can she do with her small frame?
Oh right, doesn't she have a spatial ability?
We can put all the Qian family's belongings into our spatial storage and see what happens to them.
Without further ado, Su Yue also left in a hurry.
Enter any courtyard, check if anyone is there, and if not, push open the door and stuff everything inside into your space.
They acquired several courtyards, but didn't find much of value.
Su Yue then went to the kitchen and saw that there was hardly anyone inside. She climbed over the wall and put all the vegetables, grains, oil, salt, ingredients, pots and pans, and even the large water vat into her spatial storage.
They practically crammed the stove in too.
Then he sneaked into the Qian family's storeroom, and slowly approached the two drowsy servants with a large iron ladle in hand.
One person scooped a heavy spoonful of liquid onto the person, knocking them unconscious.
Su Yue found the warehouse key on the two unconscious people, opened the door and was stunned by the grain piled up like several small mountains inside.
They truly deserve to be called a well-known wealthy family in town. Even if it doesn't rain, the grain they have here is enough to feed Qianfu's entire family for one or two years.
Su Yue started collecting as soon as she entered the door: piles of rice, millet, beans, dried goods, and boxes of ginseng supplements.
There were also boxes of precious medicinal herbs.
On the other side were rows of racks, filled with dried and cured meats.
Even the wine was arranged in jars, forming a small mountain, with an estimated amount of over a thousand jars.
The shelves were filled with bolts of fine fabric; enough to open a shop.
Wow, there's also a pair of jade ruyi here.
A golden Guanyin statue that grants children.
……
Receive, receive, receive.
Su Yue put all of these into her spatial storage, leaving not even a single grain of food behind.
Then Su Yue took the large iron ladle she had her eye on in the kitchen and ransacked the Qian family mansion, not even sparing the servants' rooms.
Fortunately, the servants were all resting at this hour. If she happened to find someone who wasn't asleep yet, Su Yue would knock them out with a single spoonful.
All that was left were the rooms of Qian's concubines, sons, and daughters. These rooms were all guarded by servants, so Su Yue couldn't easily make a move.
Having no other choice, Su Yue went back to the courtyard where Master Qian was lying, intending to start her attack from there.
Peeking out, I saw that only the old woman beside Madam Qian was guarding the bed; there was no one else there.
Now Su Yue didn't care anymore. She pushed open the window, went in, and shoved the old woman, who hadn't even reacted yet, with a spoon.
The person was knocked so hard they staggered a few times, then fell to the ground and became unresponsive.
Su Yue gathered all the vases, ornaments, calligraphy and paintings on the walls, and paper and pens on the desk into her space.
Even the bookshelves were taken away. Apart from the bed where Master Qian was lying, everything in the room that Su Yue found pleasing to the eye was taken away.
They originally planned to continue searching Madam Qian's courtyard, but they discovered that after Su Yue took away the cabinet next to the bed, a secret room door was revealed.
Su Yue originally didn't plan to go in, fearing it was just another shady place in the Qian family mansion, but she couldn't resist her curiosity.
Pick up a candlestick and push open the door to the secret room to go inside.
