The Reborn Princess Has Turned Evil

Chapter 121 Qi Zhi Makes a Move

Chapter 121 Qi Zhi Makes a Move

"Hooray!" Yelü Yuanxiu shot a pheasant and shouted excitedly. He had been cooped up in the deep palace for too long, and today he finally felt truly happy.

The guard responsible for collecting the game quickly picked up the pheasant and tied a red rope around it as a marker.

"As expected of a man of the grasslands, you've already made a harvest so quickly." Xiao Heng appeared behind him without him noticing.

Yelü Yuanxiu laughed even harder. He was the first to catch prey, so he was naturally quite proud. "This is nothing! You'll see soon enough." As he spoke, he looked Xiao Heng up and down. "As for you, you'd better hurry up and go hunt, lest I've already hunted all the prey!"

"Oh?" Xiao Heng, seated on horseback, wore a playful smile and continued, "Then I'll wait and see!"

As they were talking, a few birds called from the sky, but the forest was lush and green, and the sunlight shone sparsely through the gaps in the trees.

Yelü Yuanxiu raised his bow and arrow, but when he looked up, the light was so bright it was blinding, and he couldn't see the bird at all, so he simply gave up. The instant he opened his eyes, a wild goose struck by an arrow fell to the ground with a thud, landing right in front of Yelü Yuanxiu's horse.

"What amazing archery skills!" Xia Tingfu's voice came from beside him. The guards behind him were already carrying a wild deer, obviously the result of their recent battle.

"Brother Xiao, your archery skills are superb. I thought your swordsmanship was already exquisite, but I didn't expect your bow and arrow skills to be so impressive as well. You are truly a hidden master," Xia Tingfu exclaimed.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Heng put down his bow and arrow. He had just heard a bird chirping, its voice mournful, so he figured it must be alone. He immediately raised his bow and arrow and shot it down.

"Not at all, Brother Xia, you flatter me. Brother Yelü is truly remarkable." He said, glancing at Yelü Yuanxiu, his expression revealing his true feelings.

Yelü Yuanxiu immediately felt somewhat embarrassed, but he couldn't show it, so he craned his neck and asked, "The forest is deep and secluded, how could you see the location of the wild geese?"

Xiao Heng smiled without saying a word, but Xia Tingfu next to him burst into laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" Yelü Yuanxiu asked unhappily.

Xia Tingfu stopped laughing out loud, but a mocking look remained on his face. "This place is not like the grasslands, where you only need to follow the prey. In the dense forest, you naturally need to locate things by sound. What, didn't the teachers from Dongyuan Kingdom teach you this?"

Yelü Yuanxiu's face immediately turned ugly. Without replying, he said directly, "I'm too lazy to talk to you about this." After saying that, he rode his horse into the woods.

“This guy always looks down on everyone, so arrogant. It’s good that you’ve put him on his toes!” Xia Tingfu said to Xiao Heng.

Xiao Heng smiled but didn't say anything more.

"What bad luck! What are you showing off for? Just wait until I catch my prey, and I'll show you all!"

Yelü Yuanxiu grumbled as he searched for prey in the woods. Before long, there seemed to be a commotion in the bushes.

“Master, look!” said Yelü Yuanxiu’s subordinate.

Yelü Yuanxiu glared impatiently at his subordinate and said, "Do you need to tell me?" With that, he drew his bow and aimed at the bushes where there was movement.

Little did he know that not far away, Yelü Yuanxiu was also being targeted by arrows like prey, but he was completely unaware of it.

The man drawing the bow narrowed his eyes, a malicious smile playing on his lips. The cold arrow was already on the string, ready to be released.

In an instant, a goat darted out of the grass. Yelü Yuanxiu reacted swiftly, his arrow flying with tremendous force, piercing the goat's body. Overjoyed, he dismounted and walked up to the goat.

Just as Yelü Yuanxiu was about to bend down, he heard a startled voice from behind, "Master, be careful!"

He had just raised his head when a sharp arrow came hurtling towards him with lightning speed. His eyes reflected the arrow's shadow, and for a moment, he almost thought he was about to die.

In a flash, another arrow pierced through, splitting the arrow aimed at him in two, and then struck a nearby tree, its tail trembling softly.

"Ah!" Even as a prince of a nation, Yelü Yuanxiu was so frightened that he collapsed to the ground, trembling as he looked at the arrow.

"Master, Master, are you alright?" The subordinate was terrified and scrambled to Yelü Yuanxiu's side to ask, then shouted, "Guards! There's an assassin! Help!"

It was Qi Zhi who ambushed Yelü Yuanxiu. Everything was going perfectly, so who ruined his plan?

Qi Zhi looked to the other side and saw a man dressed in dark green clothes walking out of the woods. The two looked at each other, and Qi Zhi was stunned at first, then his expression froze, and his tone of voice became somewhat unnatural, "Master...Master!"

The newcomer was Chi Wenyuan. He was expressionless and simply said, "Prince Qi has excellent archery skills! However, the direction is inaccurate; you may have aimed at the wrong person."

Qi Zhi forced an awkward smile and said, "I don't understand what you're saying, Master!"

“Prince Qi is exceptionally intelligent; I need not say more,” Chi Wenyuan said.

Qi Zhi's anger surged instantly, and his eyes turned fierce, but in an instant, he changed his expression and said, "What you say is true, Master. That wild boar ran extremely fast earlier, and I was too hasty, which is why I missed with my arrow."

The two locked eyes, their unspoken confrontation resembling a battle of wits.

"In that case, I will not disturb Prince Qi's enjoyment any longer." With that, Chi Wenyuan turned and left.

"Take care, Master."

Qi Zhi stared at Chi Wenyuan's back, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

……

Shida Ridge.

One mountain can have four seasons, and the weather can be different every ten miles. The hunting grounds in the capital are bathed in sunshine, while Shida Ridge is shrouded in dark clouds.

Gao An, dragging his fresh wounds, pulled himself down with a vine in one hand. When he reached the halfway point of the mountain, he was surrounded by clouds and mist. Suddenly, he felt a drop of water on the tip of his nose. One drop, two drops, and then it started to rain.

But he still couldn't see the bottom. He shouted, "Your Highness, Your Highness!"

The rain had soaked him so much that he could barely open his eyes. To make matters worse, the vine had begun to slowly tear apart. Gao An noticed this and tried to use it for leverage, but the vine snapped in two with the slightest movement. Before he could react, he fell off the cliff.
