Chapter 939 Whispers
Chapter 939 Whispers
Villain Ch 939. Whispers
He cared for Azura, but his feelings were strictly platonic. He never wanted to hurt her, but navigating these relationships was already a delicate balance.
Shaking off his thoughts, Allen refocused on his preparations. It took him another hour before he finished everything. Well, not quite everything—he still needed to cut the cake and arrange the final platings. He decided to leave the intricate details of plating and presentation to the skilled hands of the servants.
For his own meal, he decided on a simple yet nutritious dish of grilled salmon and boiled eggs as side dishes.
With the food taken care of and the room ready, Allen wanted to make sure his evening plans remained a surprise. He didn't want anything to seem too obvious or forced. So, he went online to make his presence and pass the time. This was one of the reasons he had pushed himself to finish his writing early the previous day.
He had set up automatic publishing for his chapters, ensuring his readers wouldn't be left waiting. He could now enjoy the evening without any looming deadlines or unfinished work hanging over his head.
Allen left the kitchen and headed to his room. He reached his room and quickly opened his phone, expecting the usual flood of notifications in the group chat. As predicted, the girls had been messaging him, asking about his whereabouts and why he wasn't online yet.
He quickly typed out a response, explaining that he had to take care of some things first but was logging in now. But none of them replied, indicating they were already engrossed in the game. With a small smile, he set his phone down and picked up his VR headset.
The headset settled on his head as he logged into the game. His Devil Emperor avatar materialized at the gates of the Cursed Crypts, the dark and eerie surroundings welcoming him like an old friend. He looked around, expecting to see at least one of the girls waiting for him, but the area was deserted. He frowned slightly, then waved his hand to summon his friends' list user interface.
All of them were online. Their names glowed on the list, indicating their presence in the game, but none were in sight. A quick glance at their HP and Mana bars showed they were all full, meaning they hadn't been in combat recently. This struck him as odd, considering they usually spent their online time hunting or completing quests. The silence felt heavy, almost unnatural.
Allen decided to check the hall first, where they often gathered to chat when they weren't actively adventuring. He moved through the crypt's gates, the shadows shifting around him as he made his way down the dark corridors. His mind was focused on finding the girls and figuring out why they were so quiet.
As Allen approached the hall, he began to hear the faint sounds of conversation. He slowed his steps, deciding to eavesdrop for a moment when he heard his name mentioned.
"Love chocolate?!" Bella's voice rang out in shock, drawing murmurs of agreement and surprise from the others.
"It will be," Alice assured her. "We've all worked hard to make it memorable."
"I still can't believe Allen ate the chocolate," Bella said with a laugh.
"It was an accident," Larissa agreed, smiling despite her frustration. "But it's okay. I will bring some more. At least I know it will work." Her voice filled with optimism.
"Maybe we can stop by a store on the way to his place and grab some more... chocolate," Zoe suggested. "Just to be safe." She ended it with a wink.
"That's a good idea," Vivian nodded. "We don't want to run out of anything."
"I can't wait to see his reaction," Alice said excitedly. "He's going to love all the surprises."
"He better," Shea said with a smirk. "We've put in a lot of effort."
"I think he'll be pleasantly surprised," Jane said, her confidence growing. "We've covered all the bases."
"Definitely," Larissa agreed. "We've got costumes, music, candles, lingerie, and oils. It's going to be an amazing night."
"I'm glad we're doing this," Vivian said. "It's important to make time for each other."
"Agreed," Zoe said. "Life gets so busy, and it's easy to forget to have fun."
"We're lucky to have each other," Jane said warmly. "And Allen too."
"Very lucky," Shea echoed. "Now let's make tonight unforgettable."
