Chapter 801: Hidden Catacomb

Villain Ch 801. Hidden Catacomb

Alice’s excitement, however, was palpable, her eyes shining with anticipation as they navigated the winding passageways. "A Hidden Catacomb?" she echoed, her voice filled with excitement. "Looks promising," she added, a grin spreading across her face.

Bella couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Alice’s enthusiasm. "Let’s not put too much expectation. The greater the height of your hopes, the deeper the sting of your fall," she remarked, her tone laced with sarcasm as she glanced at Alice.

Alice shot Bella a playful glare. "Why do you sound like Allen?" she protested, her expression one of mock indignation.@@@@

Allen turned to Alice with a frown. "Do I sound like that?" he asked, his voice tinged with confusion.

His question earned him flat stares from the rest of the group. The word "Seriously?" was clearly written on their foreheads. Allen glanced at each of them in turn, his smile turning somewhat sheepish.

"It was a joke," Allen began, addressing Bella’s earlier comment. "I know I’m a bit skeptical about something like this. I mean, it’s better to get something more than expectations than below it, right?" he reasoned, his tone light but earnest.

Jane’s eyes lit up with excitement as she eagerly voiced her agreement. "I agree with that!" she exclaimed, raising her hand in enthusiasm.

Zoe couldn’t help but grin at Jane’s enthusiasm. "Why are you so excited about that?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

Jane turned to Zoe with a strange smile on her face, her eyes flickering with a hint of nostalgia. "That’s because in the past... I always hoped I would get a guy who was like out of a romance story... But I couldn’t get it. I once gave up on that, but then..." Jane trailed off, her gaze shifting towards Allen as if to emphasize her point.

Understanding dawned on Zoe’s face as she connected the dots. "Ah, I understand," she said, nodding in realization.

But then, their conversation was suddenly interrupted by a low growl echoing through the catacombs. It sounded like the pained cry of a wounded animal, causing them to tense up in anticipation of what lay ahead.

The group froze as the low growl reverberated through the catacombs, sending a chill down their spines. Allen exchanged a concerned glance with his companions, their expressions mirroring his own unease.

Jane was the first to voice her concern. "You heard that, right? It sounds like a beast," she said, her voice tinged with unease.

Zoe glanced around nervously, her eyes wide with apprehension. "Not zombies or undead? We are in a catacomb," she pointed out, her voice barely above a whisper.

Vivian nodded in agreement, her brow furrowed with worry. "Or both," she added, her voice trembling slightly.

Allen considered their options for a moment before speaking up. "We should check it out," he suggested, his voice firm and resolute.

But before anyone could move, Bella stepped forward, her expression grave. "No," she said firmly, her hand gripping Allen’s arm tightly. "All protagonists in horror films die because of that. Because they check for strange sounds or strange sightings," she warned, her tone laced with urgency.

Alice chimed in with her own suggestion. "But this is in a game," she pointed out, her tone calm and rational. "Just follow the monsters, they will show us the way, duh," she added, rolling her eyes in exasperation.

Allen glanced at Alice and nodded in agreement. "She’s right," he conceded, his expression thoughtful. "Let’s see where the monsters lead us."

"You guys are kidding, right?" Bella said, her voice tinged with a hint of annoyance. It was clear that she wasn’t thrilled about the prospect of investigating the source of the eerie sound.

But Shea simply shook her head, a mischievous smirk playing at the corners of her lips. "Nope," she replied, her tone light and teasing.

With a resigned sigh, Bella reluctantly followed along, her footsteps echoing softly against the cold stone floor as she trailed behind her companions. Despite her apprehension, she couldn’t deny the curiosity gnawing at her insides, urging her to press forward and uncover the source of the mysterious sound.
